DURANAR® XL coating systems extend the DURANAR 70% PVDF platform with metallic coatings containing aluminum flake, which provide high sparkle and metallic glow and require a clear topcoat. This product supplies the DURANAR XL system in Real Orange. The three- and four-coat system consists of a corrosion-inhibitive primer, an optional barrier coat, a color coat and a clear topcoat. The clear topcoat protects the color coat from atmospheric pollutants and enhances its durability, while the barrier coat provides UV protection for the primer where semi-transparent colors are applied. The resulting film build creates a system with outstanding barrier protection, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance and toughness, offering added protection on metal roofs, wall panels and architectural components in difficult seacoast and industrial environments. DURANAR XL meets FGIA/AAMA 2605 and is available in metallics, micas and bright colors.
